Updated: 2009-11-04 22:29 BEIJING: Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan on Wednesday called on beefed-up Sino-US coordination and cooperation in fighting the global financial crisis. Wang made the call during a meeting with a delegation from the US-China Business Council, led by Chairman Andrew Liveris.
Wang hailed the success of the 20th China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) talks held in China's eastern city of Hangzhou last week. He said the rapid growth and tremendous changes of China-US relations and trade cooperation that have taken place since they forged diplomatic ties were beyond imagination back to 30 years ago. Liveris, who is also chairman and chief executive officer of the Dow Chemical Company, said he would continue to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' enterprises, so as to boost the healthy development of bilateral trade cooperation. |
