Construction workers rescue panda stuck on hill

Updated: 2009-09-19 11:01 Workers constructing a road in Baoxing county, Sichuan province, rescued a panda trapped on a nearby hill last Saturday. According to the workers, they spotted the panda, a rare and endangered species found only in China, struggling to find a way down from the top of a hill. The panda attacked and injured one of the workers , who was involved in the rescue. "I don't care much for the injury. It's worth saving a panda," the injured worker said. Experts at the local wild animal protection center said the panda was about 3 years old and weighed a healthy 35 kg. (Chengdu Commercial Daily) |
