Man who shares name with fugitive detained

Police in Haikou, Hainan province, wrongly detained a migrant worker for three days because he not only shared the name of a wanted criminal but also looked a little like him recently.

Yi, along with his fianc, was about to board a ship to return to his hometown in Henan province on Tuesday, when police began interrogating him and later dumped him in a detention house.

The local police department offered Li its deepest apologies after it struck they had detained the wrong man.
