Man lucky to get away after stealing from lover

A court in Chongqing municipality on Monday sentenced a man to three years in jail with a three-year reprieve -- no time in jail -- for stealing from his girlfriend just for kicks.

Following a trivial quarrel on April 5, Yang stole his live-in lover's bankcard and withdrew about 40,000 yuan ($5,860) from her account.

However, two weeks later, Yang realized he had committed a serious crime and returned the money to his girlfriend before turning himself in to the police.
