China's top science academy woos talents

Updated: 2009-09-02 19:29 The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) launched a talents introduction and training program in Beijing on September 1, the Xinhuanet reported Tuesday. The CAS plans to recruit 600 senior-level specialists from overseas in the next five years. Bai Chunli, Executive Vice President of CAS said the project also plans to introduce and train 600 academic leaders, educate 600 promising managers, train 6,000 younger experts, and finance 1,500 scholars and scientists from overseas to work at CAS in the next five years. The goal of the program is to both support talented young Chinese people under 35 years old, and to bring specialists from abroad to China, Bai said. |
