China has plans to reform the pricing mechanism of its resource products like water, electricity and gas, in an effort to make it market-oriented, said a senior official from the country’s top economic planning body.

The country will also reform the pricing mechanism on practices involved in environmental protection, including waste discharge, sewage disposal and refuse treatment, said Peng Sen, vice director of the National Development and Reform Commission.
