Gaming addict chops off arm to save computer

A 20-year-old boy chopped off his own hand using a kitchen knife to prevent his father from smashing his computer in Foshan, Guangdong province, last week.

The boy had to be rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors performed an emergency operation to stitch back his left hand.

The boy was busy playing games on his computer when his father entered his room and called him for dinner.

The boy refused to even acknowledge his father's presence, which resulted in a quarrel, with the father threatening to smash the computer.
