US Pavilion position paper on sponsorship released

Shanghai World Expo 2010, whose theme is "Better City, Better Life", will give visitors a glimpse into the future, a future that includes a healthier, more sustainable urban environment. With Expo 2010 less than a year away, more than 190 countries have committed to participate. However, due to a law passed by Congress in 1991, the US is prohibited from using government funds to design, construct or operate a national pavilion. As a result, US pavilion organizers must raise an estimated $ 50-60 million from private sources and American companies are feeling the pressure to contribute.
