Kyrgyzstan reaffirms commitment to one-China policy

ALMATY - Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs Kadyrbek Sarbaev reiterated Kyrgyzstan's commitment to the one-China policy and willingness to enhance bilateral ties when meeting with a delegation of China's top political advisory body in Bishkek on Monday.

Meeting with Zhang Meiying, vice chairperson of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Sarbaev hailed the sound development of bilateral ties.

He spoke highly of the frequent exchanges of high-level visits and important consensus reached between both sides on furthering bilateral cooperation of mutual benefits in various fields.

Zhang said the first visit to Kyrgyzstan by a CPPCC delegation was aimed to enhance exchanges, promote mutual understanding and further boost the friendship between the two countries and peoples.

She expressed the CPPCC's readiness to increase contacts with the Kyrgyz parliament and to contribute to the well-being of the two peoples.

Meeting Zhang separately on Monday, Speaker of Kyrgyz Supreme Council Aitibai Tagayev said the recent years witnessed the healthy and steady growth of bilateral ties.
