TV reporter dead in fall from 25-storey tower

Updated: 2009-02-18 13:59 WENZHOU, Zhejiang -- The TV reporter, who fell from the roof of a 25-storey building Tuesday as he was shooting in east China's Zhejiang Province Tuesday, died Wednesday morning, according to a local TV official. Bao Cunliang, 38, a Wenzhou TV Station reporter, died at 2:10 a.m. at the Wenzhou Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicines. He fell off the station's building at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, said Dong Jinghai, news director of the city-level TV station.
Dong said there was a strong wind at the time, but it was not clear whether the wind might have caused the reporter to fall. Bao fell on the windshield of a car and was rushed to the hospital. His camera was smashed and lay in debris around him. He suffered brain and chest injuries in addition to several fractures. Bao was married and had a 10-year-old daughter. |
