"The Chinese economy seems to be accelerating from quarter to quarter and may be hitting the ceiling of its potential growth without sliding into inflation. The growth is accelerating, with the most recent quarter's growth outstripping the previous one by almost one percentage point. This highlights the need for more effective measures to control what seems to be a runaway economy. The mystery for me is why the money supply hasn't reflected the surge in growth - up 17 percent, lower than last year's, or reflect the surge in exports - up over 27 percent compared with last year's rise of 23.6 percent."
