Drunkard mistakens drain for hot water spring

A drunk mistook a drain channel he fell into on his way home for an open-air hot spring and stayed there for what he thought was a free bath.

So comfortable was he, he was reluctant to leave the warm water in a town near Jixian, the Tianjin municipality, last Tuesday morning while warmhearted passers-by called firefighters to carry him out it.

"We found him taking a bath there with half of his body doused in the water early that morning," a fireman said.

As he was taken to the police station to sober up, he protested that he would like to sit in the bath a little while longer.
