Jia extended warm welcome to all Taiwan compatriots who are visiting the mainland for the Olympic Games. "I hope you will share passion, joy and glory associated with the Olympic Games with brothers and sisters of the mainland," he told the delegation. He also wish good luck to Chinese Taipei athletes. According to the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, the Chinese Taipei Olympic delegation comprises 133 persons, including 80 athletes competing in 15 events. Jia is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
