Komatsu Tadashi, a businessman and member of the Japanese delegation who visited the Meilanfang Grand Theater in Beijing on Friday, said he was deeply impressed by the theater.

"China's Peking Opera and the Japanese kabuki have a lot in common," he said. "I hope we can deepen our cultural exchanges in the future."

Tomohiro Ishikawa, the youngest congressman in the delegation, said the environment in Beijing is impressive.

"It is my first visit here. In my eyes, Beijing is a clean international metropolis, with little difference from Tokyo," said the 34-year-old congressman, who mainly handles agricultural and environmental protection affairs.

"I hope we can further cooperate on the environment issue," he added.
