Earthquake rocks seas east of Taiwan

BEIJING -- An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolts the seas east of Yilan, Taiwan at 1:51 a.m. (Beijing time) on Friday, according to China Seismological Station.

The epicenter was initially determined to be at 24.2 degrees north latitude and 122.3 degrees east longitude, about 120 kilometers from Taipei.
