A female tiger is expected to deliver a liger (cross-bred lion and tiger) next month in Shiyanhu Forest Park in Changsha County, Hunan.

The female Siberian tiger has been pregnant for more than two months. She mated with an African lion in the park in early December.

It will be the first time a liger is born in the park. But zoologists warn that only about one of every 50,000 liger births is successful, and the liger's survival rate is even lower.
