BEIJING -- If you find somebody involved in bribery, officials neglecting duty or abusing power during the Spring Festival, please call 010-64014567, a notice of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) has said.

This has been part of the CPC watchdog's efforts to check "holiday corruption," or bribes disguised as holiday gifts, during the 7-day Chinese Lunar New Year holidays which began Sunday.

Many other commissions and ministries under the CPC and the State Council have also opened hotlines for citizens to report emergencies or complain during the holidays.

Citizens can call the Ministry of Public Health when finding or infecting epidemics, call special accident-reporting phones for emergencies like fires, burglaries or violence, and they can also contact the Ministry of Communications when massive traffic jams occur.

The Ministry of Public Security has opened different hotlines, respectively for reporting crimes, gambling, pornography, drugs and other illegality.

Also, water, noise or air pollution incidents can be reported to the State Environmental Protection Administration, illegality on the Internet to the Ministry of Public Security, and fraud tour guides to the National Tourism Administration.
