Updated: 2007-02-02 09:00

A 55-year-old man left a note to have his organs donated before he committed suicide. But his wish could not be fulfilled because by the time he was found, his organs were no longer suitable for transplant.

The man's body was discovered by hikers at a hillside on Tuesday. An open bottle of pesticide was found nearby, along with a suicide note which mentioned he quit his job three years ago because he was forced to accept a pay cut.

He owed HK$500,000 ($70,512) in credit card debts, which were mostly used to pay for mortgage of the flat he shared with his jobless wife.
