Shopaholics seek therapy to beat habit

White-collar women in Shanghai are taking psychotherapy to help them get over their addiction to shopping.

Lisa, a pharmaceutical sales representative, has a good monthly salary but still lives a life of fiscal difficulty. She usually spends around 1,000 yuan (US$123) every month purchasing clothes and cosmetics.

A local psychologist said that office women often fight off depression and anxiety by shopping.
