(China Daily)
Updated: 2006-09-11 09:01 A man surnamed Huang is considering a lawsuit against a primary school in the city of Sanya, Hainan Province, after the school refused to let his son study there due to his inability to speak putonghua, or standard Chinese. Last month, Huang, a local migrant worker, brought his 6-year-old son to Anyou Primary School to register as a new pupil. But the school refused to let his son become its pupil in the wake of an interview with the boy. Huang said the school has deprived his son of his right to education. The local educational department has launched an investigation. Nanguo Metropolis News |
