August 22, 2006. Hong Kong's economy grew 5.2 percent on year in the second
quarter - a sharp fall from the 8 percent growth in the first quarter - amid a
slowdown in exports to the United States, the government said Tuesday. Exports
only advanced 6.4 percent on year in the April-June period, a big drop from the
14.4 percent rise in the first quarter, the government said.
