BEIJING -- China's Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing talked by phone with his French counterpart Philippe Douste-Blazy on Tuesday, said China's Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said the two ministers exchanged views on resolving Iran nuclear issue peacefully through negotiations and agreed to push forward the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The Security Council on Saturday unanimously adopted the compromise resolution on the ongoing violence in Lebanon and Israel.

The two ministers also said the two countries will make joint efforts to keep high-level exchanges to promote bilateral relations, according to the ministry.
