Shanxi in spotlight for brand promotion

A ceremonious brand promotion activity was held at Bayi Square of Changzhi, a cradle of Chinese revolution in North China's Shanxi Province August 10, 2006.

The Brand Promotion tour members, including officials from the ministry, journalists, and the local government officials and representatives of enterprises attended the ceremony.

Cao Derong, vice deputy of the Department of Market System Development under the Ministry of Commerce, said the brand name exhibition on the square promote more people to know the city of Changzhi, even Shanxi's home-grown brands.

Brand promotion aims at further strengthening the awareness of home-grown brands of the whole nation and form friendly environment of "constructing brand, promoting brand, using brand and cherishing brand" in the country to accelerate home-grown brands construction, boost the trade growth mode and strengthen the comprehensive national power, according to Cao

City mayor Du Shanxu then briefly introduced the situation of brand-building in Changzhi. He said that by now two brands including Tianji Coal Chemical Industry and Orient Gymnastic Equipments have been entitled as "Chinese famous brand".

Having affluent natural resources and long history, Changzhi was named one of the top ten Chinese charm cities.
