A bird flu patient was released yesterday in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

Authorities confirmed the 31-year-old man known as Jiang caught the H5N1 on June 13. He was a local truck driver.

Jiang is the only male, adult patient of bird flu that Chinese doctors have cured, authorities said. China has reported 19 human cases of bird flu since last year. Twelve of them died.
