Fly-catcher eyes place in record book

Hu Xilin is considering applying to the Guinness Book of World Records, after claiming to have killed more than 8 million flies in the city of Shantou in eastern Guangdong in the past decade.

Hu, 50, who says he has unique skills in catching flies, is sought out by many local restaurants, hotels and food companies to help get rid of flies in the cities of eastern Guangdong.

Hu is said to be able to catch more than 100 flies barehanded a day.
