BEIJING (AP) _ An unlicensed Chinese doctor has been arrested on charges that
he fatally poisoned a 16-year-old girl with a homemade remedy for a skin
disease, a news report said Monday.
Bai Mingsheng prescribed 32 homemade medicines in February for Zhang Jialing,
who suffered from psoriasis, a skin disease, the official Xinhua News Agency
said. It said both lived in Ulanqab, a city in the northern region of Inner
Mongolia.
Zhang died March 24, and tests on her medication showed it contained
hydragyrum, a toxic chemical, Xinhua said. It said Bai admitted that the
medication was made with the chemical.
The report didn't say what penalty Bai might face if convicted.
