November 14, 1978: Beijing Municipal Committee of CPC clears names of those involved in the Tian'anmen Incident of 1976
On November 14, 1978, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China announced the rehabilitation of the Tian'anmen Incident of April 5, 1976, during which people gathered in Tian'anmen Square and professed their love for the late Premier Zhou Enlai and their hatred for the Gang of Four. The committee said the incident was a revolutionary act and cleared the names of those who were cruelly oppressed for taking part in the incident.
