March 1, 1949: The All-China Students Federation is established in Beijing
March 1, 1953: The electoral law is enacted
On March 1, 1953, the "Electoral Law of National People's Congress and Local People's Congress at all Levels" was enacted. The main characteristics are the universality and equality of suffrage to allow all classes and all nationalities to have appropriate representatives in the People's Congress at all levels. The enactment of the electoral law marked a new stage of development of people's democratic politics.
