A Beijing media outlet reported on Monday that a Taiwanese actor had been detained in the capital for alleged drug use.
Beijing Times said the capital's police had confirmed that Kai Ko, 23, a popular actor and singer in Taiwan, was arrested for taking drugs last week and the case is still under investigation.
The Beijing Public Security Bureau did not respond to enquiries or release further details about the case.
More than five celebrities have been detained for taking drugs over the past few months, including Zhang Mo, an actor and the son of Zhang Guoli, a well-known director in China, and Chen Wanning, a famous writer.
