Stars decorate homes in style
Home and style magazine AD celebrates its one-year birthday by inviting four celebrities to decorate rooms of a temporary home in Sanlitun, in Beijing.
Pianist Li Quan, in charge of the living room, places his piano on a white stage and scatters the room with round sofas. "A living room functions as a working studio for me so a piano is a must. I like to invite friends home and the sofas are for them," Li says.
Artist Zhang Dali's well-known piece Pigeon in Blue hangs on the wall of the bedroom he was assigned. "I kept a whole wall for the painting for proper display," Zhang says. "Paintings are used as room decoration."
Dancer Jin Xing uses many mirrors in the bathroom and says mirrors help her discover her best moves, which will move audiences as well.
Michelin star chef Bernd Siefert's zone is of course the kitchen. Siefert uses natural colors, such as wood and earthy colors to decorate the space, "which makes me more relaxed compared with metal, widely used in my working place."
