Reese Witherspoon has called her divorce from Ryan Phillippe “humiliating and very isolating,” in a new interview with ELLE magazine.

The actress, whose new movie, the animated “Monsters vs. Aliens” is due out March 27, sat down with ELLE magazine, and opened up about her split from the “Stop-Loss” actor.

“[It was] very humiliating and very isolating,” she the magazine’s April issue.

“But, by the way, if it’s not painful, maybe it wasn’t the right decision to marry to begin with. Those are the appropriate emotions. When people get in your face and say, ‘This will pass,’ you think, ‘Are they crazy? I’m never gonna feel any better than I feel right this minute and nothing’s ever gonna make sense again.’ And I still have moments where I’m like, ‘Nothing’s ever gonna make sense again.’”

But if her comments about current beau Jake Gyllenhaal are anything to go by, things can’t be all bad for Witherspoon. After all, she said Jake was “fabulous.”

“He really is a fantastic guy,” Witherspoon continued before shutting further questions about her current relationship down. “Unfortunately, he’s not in the movie, so we can’t really talk about him,” she said.
