Reality show star Kardashian to marry footballer

Socialite and reality show star Kim Kardashian has accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, NFL footballer Reggie Bush.

The couple began dating publicly in May 2007 and reportedly met through Kardashian's then friend Paris Hilton and her pigskin pal Matt Leinart, pagesix.com reports.

While Kardashian had no ring on her finger over the weekend when she and Bush showed to South Beach hotspot Mansion's New Year's party, she did admit the two are very close.

Kardashian has had a tumultuous year at best, battling the release of a sex tape featuring her and R&B singer Ray-J, as well as reportedly losing rapper-actor boyfriend Nick Cannon due to the scandal. Bush himself has been linked to R&B star Ciara.

Professionally, the couple look great on paper. The 22-year-old Bush is a Heisman Trophy winner, and Kardashian has gained further notoriety with the success of her E! Network reality series 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'.

However, the representatives for the couple weren't available for comment.
