Kylie to split with three-year boyfriend?

Daily Mail | Updated: 2007-01-29 09:45

Kylie Minogue’s three-year relationship with Olivier Martinez is on the rocks after he dated two women in Los Angeles while she was in Britain.

Friends of the singer have told the Mail that Martinez has been deliberately trying to force Miss Minogue into finishing with him by behaving in an "increasingly challenging way".

"Olivier finds Kylie too controlling and neurotic," said one. "But he feels he cannot dump her so soon after her recovery from breast cancer.

"Though the situation has become totally unworkable, he is concerned what the fallout might be with her still so weak. He feels too guilty to finish the relationship himself."

This behaviour manifested itself last week with the French actor enjoying dates with two different women at his Hollywood hotel while 38-year-old Kylie was 5,000 miles away in the UK.

On both occasions, he chose the Chateau Marmont, a hotel frequently staked out by photographers, as his rendezvous.

First he met up with model Sarai Givati, the girl he promised Miss Minogue he was not having a fling with after spending a three day break with her in Paris six weeks ago. On Thursday Israeli Miss Givati, 24, stayed in Martinez’s suite for 90 minutes.

The next evening he dined at the hotel with 28-year-old actress Michelle Rodriguez, a woman he was spotted kissing in the street two years ago. Miss Rodriguez, who stars in the television series Lost, stayed overnight.

The meetings took place last week as Miss Minogue was completing her Homecoming world tour in Manchester.

However, it seems the singer just does not want to let him go. "She can’t bear the thought of breaking up with Ollie," said another friend.

"She has been as unswerving and driven about their relationship as she has about her career – failure is not an option. She was planning the wedding dress before he even proposed.

"She wants the family, but the clock is ticking. She cannot cope with the idea of starting all over again."
