BMW Destination X to race through N. Europe
BMW China launched the latest series of its Destination X tours in Beijing on Aug 23.
The race's official route will begin in Oslo, Norway, the host city of 1952 Winter Olympic Games, and travel through Lapland in Finland, Moscow, and conclude in Sochi, Russia, the host city of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
A total of 812 competitors have participated in the Destination X tours over the past 7 years, covering 32,000 km, according to the auto company.
The company also unveiled its Destination X edition BMW X1 series at the event, with plans to release a limited number of 200 within the Chinese market by the end of 2013.
As the exclusive automotive partner of the Chinese Olympic Committee, BMW also announced on Friday its sponsorship of China's national figure skating team, along with its subsidiary youth team.
