Trade center to be built in Dongguan
A cross-border commodity exhibition and trade center, featuring products from countries and regions related to the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, will be built in Dongguan in Guangdong province, according to organizers of the province's Silk Road International Expo.
"The center will become an important platform to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between countries and regions related to the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road," said Wu Jun, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong.
According to Wu, organizers have signed strategic agreements with several overseas business associations to build the commodity trade center during the expo.
A total of 758 investment and trade agreements, worth 219 billion yuan ($33 billion), were signed during the four-day event, which concluded in Dongguan on Sunday.
