This year, China has invited an unprecedented number of developing countries, including three African nations, as guests to attend the G20 summit, hoping more voices from the South can be heard by the major powers. A lot of African journalists appreciated what China had done for their countries and hoped to get some actual support from G20 members.

"I expect the G20 to bring a lot of influence because China wants G20 members to invest in Africa. This year's summit is quite different from others because it will take a lot of influence for investing in African countries," Ana Cardoso, a Mozambican reporter from the China-Africa Press Center, said.

"In G20, we have only one African country which is the member, and we have three invited countries from the Africa this year. So it's so important for African countries because we now have the opportunity to be here and to tell the G20 leaders that we need investment in African, we need to solve African issues such as the political conflicts, the war and terrorism. I hope the G20 will bring solutions for those problems," Ana said.
