China still Algeria's largest supplier in first 10 months

ALGIERS - China is still Algeria's largest supplier with trade at $6.86 billion or 17.81 percent of Algeria's total import bill in the first ten months of 2016, revealed figures from the Customs' Statistics and Data Center (CNIS) reported on Sunday by the local APS news agency.

Algeria's imports bill in the last ten months hit $38.54 billion, according to the source, while China managed to remain Algeria's first supplier, dethroning France for the fourth year in a row.

France occupied the second place among Algeria's largest suppliers with $4 billion, followed by Italy with $3.9 billion, Spain with $3 billion and Germany with $2.3 billion.

At the end of 2015, Chinese imports into Algeria accounted for $8.22 billion, from a total of a $51.501 billion bill.

As for Algerian exports, the figures indicate that Italy stands as the primary destination in the first ten months of 2016 with $4.04 billion, from an overall $22.74 billion' worth of exports so far.

Spain came in third with $3 billion, followed by France with $2.6 billion, the US with $2.08 billion and finally Canada with $1.14 million.
