Sinomach links with GE in clean-energy initiative

"We can provide advanced technology, global resources and managerial expertise to jointly develop the global markets with Chinese companies," said Duan. "Our complementary advantages will enable more enterprises from the two countries to collaborate on global expansion."

Sinomach and GE have worked together on infrastructure programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America, combining GE's products such as gas and wind turbines, with Sinomach's construction capacity.

Since 2000, China has become involved in a number of power projects in Africa, where there has been a growing demand for clean energy.

Up to 80 percent of Kenya's population still does not have reliable access to power. The country aims to have installed wind power capacity of 2.036 megawatts by 2030.

Sinomach has been helping develop Africa's power market for more than a decade, and has been responsible for installing 3,000 megawatts of capacity across the continent.
