China eyes greater cultural information services
BEIJING - China aims to boost cultural information services for the public by urging authorities to invest more in providing information, says a government plan unveiled Wednesday.
China will form a national pool of cultural information resources as well as a system for cultural data and resources sharing among central, provincial, city and county-level organs by 2020, according to the plan issued by the Ministry of Culture.
Non-governmental sectors will be encouraged to play a role in building a cultural information service platform, and government websites' information service capacity will be improved, says the plan.
The ministry said greater efforts will be made to push forward construction of digital cultural projects for the public and to promote trans-department and trans-region cooperation for cultural service development.
