Huawei seeks fair trading environment in EU
Huawei is hoping for an open and fair business environment in Europe following media reports of an European Union investigation targeting Chinese telecoms.
In a statement sent to China Daily on Wednesday, Huawei said it believes only through an open and competitive market environment can parties achieve a sustainable development of telecom industries in Europe and China "providing customers in both places with convenience".
Huawei's response came after a Financial Times report on Tuesday that said the EU would defer making a decision on whether to launch investigations against Chinese telecom companies.
However, in a reply on Tuesday to China Daily, the European Commission denied any such delay.
It also denied there was any link between the telecoms issue and whether European companies won a satisfactory share in China Mobile's contract to build a next-generation wireless network.
