China to promote tourism in Nepali market
KATHMANDU -- In a bid to give a new momentum to China Nepal relation through tourism, the Kathmandu-based China National Tourist Office is mapping out plans to promote its county's newly revamped tourism logo in Nepali market, sources said Wednesday.
The new tourism tagline for China was launched recently with an aim to attract more tourists and offer a lifetime experience of astonishing Chinese natural beauty and culture. The logo themed, "Beautiful China," fully expresses the elements of Chinese culture, and stands for the new image and new vision of China Tourism, according to a recent release by China Tourism.
If the data by China National Tourist Office is anything to go by, a remarkable 28.2 percent yearly surge in direct tourist departure from Nepal to China was witnessed in the year 2012. Similarly, 107,500 direct visits from China to Nepal were marked in the same year,indicating an increase by 3.54 percent over that of 2011.
Moreover, China maintained a sound development in the year 2012 as the number of inbound tourists arrivals reached 57.7 million, which brought in around $50 billion -- a 3.2 percent rise year on year, according to the China National Tourism Administration.
