The Donggang Modern Logistics Zone has been approved as a "Provincial Modern Service Industry Agglomeration" by the Liaoning provincial government. The logistics zone will receive policy and financial support from the government.
With a planning area of 3.12 square kilometers and a total investment of 14 billion yuan ($2.2 billion), the Donggang Modern Logistics Zone focuses on the business of maritime container logistics in the trade and storage of goods and materials such as grains, mineral ores, timber and coal in the eastern part of northeast China.
The logistics zone also serves as an international logistics port in northeast Asia and a trade base to North Korea. After completion, over 100 logistics companies will settle in the zone with overall revenue expected to reach 100 billion yuan per year.
