BEIJING - China's industrial value-added output grew 14.3 percent year-on-year in the first half of this year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Wednesday.

The year-on-year industrial value-added output in June stood at 15.1 percent after hitting a seven-month low of 13.3 percent in May, NBS spokesman Sheng Laiyun said at a press conference.

On a monthly basis, the industrial value-added output expanded by 1.48 percent in June from May, compared with 1.03 percent over the May to April period, Sheng said.

Industrial value-added output measures the final results of industrial production, or in other words the value of gross industrial output minus intermediate inputs, such as raw materials and labor costs.
