Capgemini China buying PraxiSolution to expand services

BEIJING -- Consultancy company Capgemini China announced Friday that it has taken over PraxiSolution, a Chinese consultancy firm, underscoring its desire to break into the country's electrical power market.

The company did not disclose the details of the transaction. By combining the two companies' resources, the move will enrich and improve Capgemini China's services in the country's power market, Capgemini senior vice president Chen Bo said.

"Information technology is expanding to the value chain of the country's power market, which will boost demand for information technology services in the near future," Chen said.

The Shanghai-based company was established in 1997 and currently employs more than 1,800 management consultants and technical experts.

In addition to providing consultancy services, Capgemini, the owner of Capgemini China, is also engaged in application services, financial services and outsourcing.

The Beijing-based PraxiSolution is a professional provider of information technology and consultation services in the city's local power market.
