Northeast China's Heilongjiang province exported 14,000 tons of plastic products in the first quarter of this year, a decline of 27.8 percent from the same period of last year, according to the local customs house.
Of the total, 2,000 tons went to Russia, down 14.1 percent year-on-year.
The decline was attributed partly to mounting production cost, which is being driven up by price hikes for raw materials, transport services and power supplies. Trade barriers in developed nations was also a factor behind the decline.
