North China's summer sea resort to build airport

Beidaihe, a well known international summer sea resort in North China, will build an airport to meet the booming tourism and commercial market, according to the Hebei Development and Reform Commission.

With an investment of 487 million yuan ($74.99 million), Beidaihe Airport will cover approximately 146 hectares in Qinhuangdao city in Hebei.

The airport is designed to receive about 500,000 tourists arrivals annually.

The National Development and Reform Commission has already approved the project. Construction is expected to start by the end of 2011 and reach completion in two years.
