Chinese shares close down Thursday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares fell Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.46 percent, or 13.20 points, to 2,859.74.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.59 percent, or 72.58 points, to 12,158.11.
