Reservoir construction boosted by contest

China Everbright Bank and China National Radio launched a nationwide youth talent contest in an attempt to promote the idea of building reservoirs using charitable donations in the water-stressed regions of the country, China Securities Journal reported.

The contest will be carried out in 12 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xi'an, reaching more than 50 million people, it reported. China Everbright Bank made its first donation to China's reservoir construction project in 2005. It has donated more than 10 million yuan to help build 10,000 reservoirs in West China.
