BEIJING -- Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region generated $512 million in foreign trade in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 28.7 percent on the same period of last year, according to local customs house.
The total included $340 million of exports, up 55.2 percent year-on-year, and 172 million dollars of imports, down 3.8 percent.
The trade surplus stood at $168 million.
Between January and March, Ningxia actually used $ 129 million in foreign capital, up 310 percent year-on-year.
