KATHMANDU -- The second meeting on Nepal-China's Tibet Trade Facilitation Committee (NTTFC) began on Monday.
The Nepali team is led by Toya Narayan Gyawali,Joint Secretary at Ministry of Commerce and Supplies and Ye Yinchuan, deputy secretary general of the Tibet autonomous region of China, is leading the Chinese delegation.
The meeting commonly understood as "Nepal-China trade talk" in Nepal is aimed to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries.
The meeting will review progress on implementation of the first NTTFC meeting and it will also discuss the implementation of Duty Free Access (Zero Tariff) for Nepalese products.
Removal of Non-Tariff barriers including customs procedures, quarantine, local taxes is one of the agendas that dominate the meeting. Meanwhile,infrastructure improvement at major custom points including planning and building of border points is also considered to be important.
Besides these, the meeting is scheduled to discuss Chinese foreign investment in Nepal, capacity building, and China's Tibet- Nepal Economic and Trade Fair.
The first meeting of NTTFC was held in Lhasa of China in April 2010.
